Refund policy
Every piece from JIWONXKIM is made by hand and, in most cases, exists as a single work. Please read the following before purchasing.
Returns
You may return a piece within 14 days of delivery. To do so, notify us by email at studio@jiwonxkim.com within that period — no reason is required. You may use the withdrawal form at the end of this page, but it is not obligatory.
Once you have notified us, please ship the piece back within 14 days. Returns sent after this period cannot be accepted.
Return shipping is the responsibility of the buyer, and you bear the risk of loss or damage in return transit. Given the size and value of each work, we strongly recommend insured, tracked shipping and the original packaging.
Please return the piece in the condition you received it. You may unpack and examine it as you would in a gallery. If the piece shows handling beyond what is needed to establish its nature and characteristics — including use, cleaning, or alteration — we may deduct the resulting loss in value from your refund.
Refunds
Once we receive the returned piece, or proof that you have sent it, we will refund all payments received from you, including standard delivery costs, within 14 days. Refunds are made to the original payment method. For orders paid by bank transfer, the refund is sent to the account the payment came from.
Import duties on returns
Any import duties, taxes or customs fees you paid when receiving the piece are collected by your own country's customs authority, not by us, and cannot be refunded by us. Where a refund of those charges is possible, it must be claimed from your local customs authority on export of the returned piece. Any customs or handling charges arising on the return shipment are also the responsibility of the buyer.
Non-returnable
The right of return does not apply to:
- Commissioned or made-to-order pieces
- Pieces marked "Price upon request" purchased by private arrangement, unless otherwise agreed in writing
Damaged in transit
All shipments are insured. If a piece arrives damaged, email us within 48 hours of delivery with photographs of the piece and the packaging. We will arrange a repair, a replacement where possible, or a full refund.
Cancellations
Orders may be cancelled free of charge before dispatch. Contact studio@jiwonxkim.com as soon as possible.
Right of withdrawal (EU/EEA customers)
If you are a consumer in the European Union or EEA, the returns terms above constitute your statutory right of withdrawal under the Consumer Rights Directive. In summary: you have 14 days from the day you (or a third party you designate, other than the carrier) take possession of the piece to withdraw without giving any reason; you must inform us by an unequivocal statement, such as an email; you must send the piece back within 14 days of notifying us; you bear the direct cost of return; and we will reimburse you within 14 days of receiving the piece or proof of its return, using the same means of payment. You are liable only for any diminished value resulting from handling beyond what is necessary to establish the nature, characteristics and functioning of the piece. The exceptions listed under "Non-returnable" apply.
